Ruiz Foods updates the list of El Monterey® products affected by the BrucePac Class I Recall expansion

Frisco, Texas (October 17, 2024)- On October 9 Ruiz Foods was advised that one of its suppliers, BrucePac, had issued a Class I recall of a chicken ingredient it supplied to Ruiz Foods due to potential Listeria contamination. USDA then notified Ruiz Foods that BrucePac’s recall would be extended to Ruiz Foods as a downstream recipient of some of the recalled chicken. One lot of Ruiz Foods’ single serve El Monterey® Chicken Enchilada Meal with a Best if Used by 9/23/2025 date and certain lots of its El Monterey® Mexican Grill Chicken and Cheese Taquitos (see next page for list) were covered by BrucePac’s original recall.

Ruiz Foods has since been informed that Brucepac’s recall has been expanded to include all chicken ingredients produced at its Durant, Oklahoma plant between May 31, 2024 and October 8, 2024.
