Safety Technician

Job Title: Safety Technician


  • Inspects machinery and equipment for accident prevention devices.
  • Observe team members to determine use of prescribed safety equipment, such as Safety Glasses, Bump Caps, Goggles, Respirators and Clothing.
  • Inspects specified areas for Fire Prevention Equipment and Safety and First Aid Supplies.
  • Test working areas for noise, toxic, and other hazards, using decibel, light meter and gas detectors.
  • Prepares Report of Finding with recommendation for corrective actions.
  • Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety programs.
  • Conducts daily safety audits of the different company departments and reports finding to the shift supervisor of that department with a final report submitted to the safety department on a daily basis.
  • Submits safety work orders on machinery or equipment that needs to be repaired or replaced.
  • Conducts safety meetings and stretch exercises prior to shift start-up.
  • Demonstrates the use of Personal Protective Equipment and other safety equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety policies, USDA, QA, HACCP, Sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies.
  • Must be dependable and reliable with a good attendance record.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
