Job Title: Mid Shift Human Resources Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Responds to employment and wage verifications.
  • Assists team members with problems connected with shortages on paychecks and health insurance claims
  • Provides Human Resources department orientation on company policies and programs; signs up new team members for various programs. Introduces new team members to supervisor and job instructor.
  • Monitors phone traffic. Answers incoming telephone calls, screens calls, and refers to proper manager for handling. Assists directly with routine inquiries.
  • Reviews individual employee claims for unemployment insurance benefits to determine eligibility. Follows up on claims for unemployment to maintain penalties at a minimum.
  • Processes and checks all paperwork pertaining to employee transfers, change in job classifications, and increases.
  • Performs other duties in Personnel Department, as required, including filing, composing and typing correspondence regarding personnel reports and procedures.
  • Assists in the recruitment process for hiring and conducts interviews.
  • Maintains plant and office bulletin boards in an up-to-date and legal compliance manner.
  • Counsels employees on benefit plan provisions.
  • Benefits: Inputs changes in Team Member information. Verifies and completes benefits enrollment forms. Does a follow up on Team Members concerns with insurance carriers. Assist in the enrollment and deletion process of Team Member for benefits. Filing of benefits documents.
  • Must be able to multi-task work priorities; maintain confidentiality; professionalism; possess a passion to follow the rules, especially when no one is looking and have a how can we mindset; complete all other work duties/tasks as they present; etc.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years office experience.
  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Ability to accurately type 50 wpm.
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Good working knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, etc.
  • Ability to operate standard office machines.
  • Knowledge of efficient office procedures.
  • Ability to answer telephones and greet customer groups in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.

Salary: Depending on experience.
