Job Summary:

Ruiz Foods, the leading manufacturer of quality frozen Mexican foods, has an immediate opening for a Regional Sales Manager – East Region on our Foodservice Sales Team.  The ideal candidate has experience growing business in multi-state territories and leading broker sales teams.

The Regional Sales Manager – East will manage an existing base of business while implementing Traditional Foodservice and Vending/Micro-Markets Channel growth strategies within a multi-state region.  Responsibilities include achieving top line sales and profit objectives.  The ideal candidate will have experience selling into the following Non-Commercial segments: college & university, healthcare and business/industry. The candidate must also possess a solid understanding and history selling products/solutions to Foodservice Management Companies (i.e. Sodexo and Compass) and Group Purchasing Organizations (i.e. Premier, Foodbuy, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead development of overall sales execution plans within assigned region
  • Collaborate with Director of Sales and broker teams to activate specific plans for Foodservice Management Co.’s and GPO’s, by market, in accordance with overall strategies
  • Identify targeted region chains and LLO’s within region to pursue that aligns with our product portfolio
  • Partner with our national Vending broker (BBI) to drive accelerated growth with Micro-Markets in region
  • Collaborate with Ruiz cross-functional teammates to deliver FSBU ABP objectives
  • Develop, implement and manage ongoing objectives for the Ruiz Foodservice broker network; conduct regular reviews of business performance with broker management teams within region
  • Partner with Foodservice BU Marketing Team in promotional and product development, as appropriate
  • Responsible for forecasting business/shifts (up/down) within the assigned region
  • Manage trade spend and T&E budgets within assigned parameters
Qualifications:
  • Experience managing existing and developing new relationships with Foodservice Management Companies, GPOs, region chains, LLO’s and distributors
  • Previous experience leading Foodservice and/or Vending brokers and/or working for a broker (5+ years)
  • Demonstrated success achieving topline sales and profitability targets
  • Ability to understand and manage a trade budget
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High-energy self-starter with ability to deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Team player who thrives in highly collaborative environment
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teammates
  • Demonstrated commitment to building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and brokers
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
