Job Title: Workers Compensation Specialist

- Assist the Manager with the Workers’ Compensation program to reduce costs.
- Maintain employee records and file workers compensation documents / medical notes.
- Assist the Manager in the Return to Work Program, preparing necessary documentation.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of various Workers’ Compensation related activities, such as notifying department managers of current status.
- Tracks medical visits and reminds team members of appointments.
- Manages training record system, medical record system, and Workers’ Compensation records system to document changes.
- Maintain OSHA and weekly logs.
- Communicate necessary information to Human Recourses and Payroll departments.
- Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety to safety policies, USDA, GMP’s, QA, Sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies.
- Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
- Assist manager with training, invoicing and work orders
- All other duties, as assigned.
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills, verbal & written.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal skills with team members.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Medical terminology / medical office background preferred.
- Must have excellent MS Office skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
