Job Title: Workers Compensation Specialist

  • Assist the Manager with the Workers’ Compensation program to reduce costs.
  • Maintain employee records and file workers compensation documents / medical notes.
  • Assist the Manager in the Return to Work Program, preparing necessary documentation.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of various Workers’ Compensation related activities, such as notifying department managers of current status.
  • Tracks medical visits and reminds team members of appointments.
  • Manages training record system, medical record system, and Workers’ Compensation records system to document changes.
  • Maintain OSHA and weekly logs.
  • Communicate necessary information to Human Recourses and Payroll departments.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety to safety policies, USDA, GMP’s, QA, Sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Assist manager with training, invoicing and work orders
  • All other duties, as assigned.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal & written.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal skills with team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Medical terminology / medical office background preferred.
  • Must have excellent MS Office skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
