Be the maintenance subject matter expert. Ensure that all the maintenance personnel on the shift are trained and in compliance with required qualification to operate equipment relevant to their position.
Supervises and oversees the shift to achieve departmental quality, quantity, service, cost and safety goals.
Coordinates, writes, and monitors the departmental preventative maintenance program to assure equipment is properly maintained to minimize downtime and meet OSHA requirements.
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on equipment and plans for and takes corrective action.
Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled, performs scheduled maintenance.
Works with outside contractors for repair or revision to equipment or facility.
Instructs / supervises training of employees in the performance of their job in a safe and efficient manner.
Initiates and maintains accurate records and reports (i.e., daily reports, purchase orders, injury reports, and special projects). Track labor, downtime, and report daily to management.
Maintain schedules, time sheets, PM’s and generate work orders for the maintenance team.
Schedule PIP files and PIP work. Maintain up to date equipment records and safety notes.
Set goals for maintenance personnel and assist them in accomplishing objectives.
Assist mechanics in solving repair issues and prioritizing assignments.
