Job Title: Processing Supervisor


  • Develops among assigned personnel a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
  • Reviews daily production schedule for the department to plan work, personnel assignments, and attendance for the shift.
  • Supervises and directs personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operations and company policies and procedures.
  • Anticipates and determines causes of delays in shift operations and takes appropriate action to meet schedules.
  • Reports promptly to department assistant Superintendent and/or Manager and productions planning department when delays occur, estimates time off delay and when operations will be resumed.
  • Prepares required forms for shift and leaves for department manager’s approval.
  • Contacts maintenance department for required repair work on shift.
  • With department assistant superintendent, manager and appropriate stall personnel, studies operations where cost standard is not being met to determine causes and apply corrective measures.
  • Interview applicants of department jobs and recommend candidates to department manager for hiring. With department job instructor and safety committee member, conducts orientation of new hires and their safety training on shift.
  • With department manager, conducts probationary and annual performance profile of each department team members and recommends performance increases, retraining, transfer, or termination.
  • Applies company employee relations policies in all dealings with employees.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the department and ensures GMP’s and Safety guidelines.
  • Time and Attendance in an essential function of this job.
  • All other duties, as assigned.


  • AA degree or High School Diploma plus minimum of 3-years experience in a processing/manufacturing environment. Experience in Processing including the bakery (tortilla production) area preferred.
  • Good math skills, ability to read and write.
  • Must have good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • M3 software and Red Zone experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels. Bilingual English/Spanish prefer.
  • Must have knowledge of HACCP, GMP(s), SOP(s) and Food Safety Principles.
