The Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership to the Production, Packaging departments primarily and on occasion providing support to Processing. This position is a key component of the Operations team and is expected to be in total alignment with the department goals.
COMPENSATION: $80k – $90k/Year DOE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Innovative & Teamwork driven, open to suggestions, mentoring, consensus building with peers and Team Members is paramount.
- Mentoring & Development of Team Members is critical to our continued success; therefore, this position will be a strong supporter of this initiative and be fully engaged with strategic planning and lean manufacturing implementations.
- Open and constructive communication with all departments and USDA to maintain compliance/regulations.
- Exemplary conduct which reflects / fosters RFP Philosophy: Safety, Innovation, Respect, Quality, Integrity & Teamwork
- Plans labor and material requirements to meet budget objectives AND provides overlapping support to other managers.
- Managing, directing, supporting, and mentoring Production and Packaging Supervisors to meet KPIs such as safety, quality, schedule attainment, food safety and cost of goods.
- Supportive of other areas within operations such as Processing, Sanitation, Maintenance and Warehouse.
- Complete understanding and execution of safety initiatives such as OSHA, GMP, HACCP, BRC.
- Ensure manufacturing standards are met and provide management a daily manufacturing report.
- Initiate and complete root cause analysis and investigation of matters that affect achieving plant KPIs.
- Suggest and champion changes in methods and/or equipment to increase efficiency.
- Set goals and objectives for supervisors and leads and evaluate their accomplishments or next steps.
- Interpret company policies for team members. Inspect completed work for conformance to specification and standards.
- Fully understand areas of waste and their conception. Work to reduce waste in all areas.
- Develop, recommend, seek approval, and assure implementation of budgets, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a collaborative environment between the various departments and their leaders.
- Have advanced knowledge of UKG & time and attendance procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A college degree preferred or HS Diploma and minimum of 8 years related experience in manufacturing required.
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, UKG and M3.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish prefer.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent human relations skills. Able to lead, give direction, and mentor.
- Strong desire and commitment to personal improvement and coaching.
- Open to change, willing to listen and provide direction as needed.
- M3 software and Red Zone experience a plus. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP(s), SOP(s) and Food Safety Principles.
- Infinity QS experience required (beginner to intermediate)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education (Preferred): Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.
- Experience (Required): 8 years: Manufacturing
