ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Calculate and estimate materials needed for efficient machine operation.
  • Calculate the amount of film left for machine operation by using film weights.
  • Monitor packaging standards per schedule and production model.
  • Monitor metal detector device, x-ray, sealers, and all equipment related to the packaging line to ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and make minor repairs.
  • Monitor packages for proper seal, correct film registration and legible coding.
  • Monitor package weight according to specifications and follow procedures for overweight/underweight packages.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping of area and equipment.
  • Assist with the training of line team members.
  • Machine Operator audits and record results of audit as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to Safety policies, USDA, QA, HACCP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), sanitation Rules, regulations, and company policies.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in English.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must pass company Math test with a 75% score or better.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of tool use.
  • Ability to direct people.
  • Must go through internal training to be certified as Machine Operator.
  • Must show the ability to perform the essential functions of a Machine Operator, and must demonstrate knowledge by ensuring the product meets the already established specifications.
